The School Certifying Officials that are located on the Pomona, California campus assist all students who receive VA educational benefits. We cannot assist you with determining your eligibility for benefits. To determine if you are eligible, please contact the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.benefits.va.gov\/gibill\/get_started.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Veterans Affairs<\/a>\u00a0directly.<\/p>\n<p>Western University of Health Sciences also has approval from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.calvet.ca.gov\/CSAAVE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">California State Approving Agency for Veterans Education (CSAAVE)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Western University of Health Sciences participates in the Yellow Ribbon program. Eligible students will receive $2,000 per academic year from WesternU towards tuition &amp; fee expenses that exceed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benefits.va.gov\/GIBILL\/resources\/benefits_resources\/rate_tables.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tuition and fee<\/a> amounts payable under the Post 9\/11 GI Bill\u00ae.<\/p>\n<p>The VA will then match the $2,000 on top of what they are already paying out, per academic year. Please allow at least 6-8 weeks for payment to be processed by the VA.<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"mt-28\">\n\t\t\t<a class=\"cta-arrow cta-arrow--white \" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernu.edu\/media\/registrar\/pdfs\/vaf-22-1995-form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n    Change of Program\/Place of Training<svg class=\"cta-arrow__icon d-block w-16 ml-12\" viewBox=\"0 0 20 16\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><polygon fill=\"currentColor\" points=\"11.3168217 0 9.27266614 2.39591605 14.0042587 6.6137266 8.92524936 6.42314237 0 6.42314237 0 9.57685763 8.92524936 9.57685763 14.0042587 9.3862734 9.19197579 13.6063528 11.3168217 16 20 8\"><\/polygon><\/svg>\n<\/a>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n                          <\/div>\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n  <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"relative my-48 md:my-72\">\n  <div class=\"container\">\n    <div class=\"lg:flex px-12 lg:justify-center\">\n      \n      \n                  \n                  \n      <div class=\"w-full px-24 wysiwyg-content xl:w-10\/12 2xl:w-9\/12\">\n        <h2>Your Responsibilities<\/h2>\n<p>In order to comply with the\u00a0laws governing the\u00a0Department of Veterans Affairs benefits, it is your responsibility as a student to notify the School Certifying Official of any change in\u00a0status with the University, which\u00a0may include when you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Add or drop a class(es)<\/li>\n<li>Change your address<\/li>\n<li>Withdraw from the University<\/li>\n<li>Repeat a course<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Only courses that are required for your degree program are eligible for certification.<\/p>\n<h2>Allowing Veterans to Attend or Participate in Courses Pending VA Payment<\/h2>\n<h3>Background<\/h3>\n<p>Section 103 of Public Law (PL) 115-407, \u2018Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018,\u2019 amends Title 38 US Code 3679 by adding a new subsection (e) that requires disapproval of courses of education, beginning August 1, 2019, at any educational institution that does not have a policy in place that will allow an individual to attend or participate in a course of education, pending VA payment, providing the individual submits a certificate of eligibility for entitlement to educational assistance under Chapter 31 or 33.<\/p>\n<h3>Pending Payment Compliance<\/h3>\n<p>In accordance with Title 38 US Code 3679(e), Western University of Health Sciences adopts the following additional provisions for any students using U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Post-9\/11 G.I.
