Injury & Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP)

WesternU is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for each employee and ensure full compliance with all applicable occupational safety and health regulations. The Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) is a written workplace safety program required by Cal/OSHA Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations, T8 CCR Section 3203. The regulation requires every employer to develop and implement an effective IIPP. The written plan must contain:

  • Responsibility
  • Compliance
  • Communication
  • Hazard Assessment
  • Accident/Exposure Investigation
  • Hazard Correction
  • Training and Instruction
  • Recordkeeping

Each college and department is required to develop a customized IIPP specific to the unit’s workplace.
