~ About the Event ~

WesternU fountain at night

Join us on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim to help raise funds for student scholarships. Guests at the “A Tribute to Caring” gala will enjoy a hosted reception with entertainment, along with a sumptuous dinner, an entertaining program, and after-dinner dancing and mingling.

Please consider maximizing your participation by becoming a sponsor. Your tax-deductible sponsorship contribution will publicize your company or organization among its many other benefits. More importantly, your gift will provide WesternU students with the financial assistance they need to achieve their dreams of serving their communities as health care professionals in the humanistic tradition.

WesternU is a thriving academic health center with an enrollment of over 3,800. Alumni, now more than 14,460 strong, are working all over the world, improving the quality of life for patients in their communities.

As the demand for graduate-level health care professionals continues to increase, so does the cost of their education. 82% of students enrolled at Western University of Health Sciences have incurred loans to pay for their advanced education and 21% of current WesternU students receive aid from scholarships. With the help of donors, Western University of Health Sciences awarded $3,963,970 in total scholarships last year. Every year, the funds raised from “A Tribute to Caring” provide crucial scholarship support for these students’ needs.

Portrait of Katherine Tran

Katherine Tran, College of Veterinary Medicine

"Upon graduation in Spring 2020, I intend on working in small animal practice, but it has always been a passion of mine to spearhead community veterinary outreach programs. This generous award gives me the opportunity to reduce my student expenses, and continue to develop the skills that I will eventually use to serve the community upon graduation."

-Katherine Tran, College of Veterinary Medicine

"Growing up in a less privileged community has not only presented a lot of obstacles financially and academically, it has allowed me to develop a sense of pride in helping those who are less fortunate than I am. Your scholarship will help me earn my credentials as a Doctor of Physical Therapy where I will be in a position to continue my lifelong mission of serving the community and providing assistance to those who seek it."

-Andrew Tusaazemajja, College of Health Sciences
