College of Veterinary Medicine students attended a Merial NIH symposium held at Ohio State University recently. The symposium included four poster sessions with a total of 480 posters and almost 600 attendees. Dr. Dominique Griffon, CVM Associate Dean for Research, said, “I was very proud of our students, who were well prepared to present their posters and engage with attendees. I would like to thank our scholars, their mentors and our Research Associates for their hard work this summer. Our training program culminates each year in a symposium that has been growing over the years and attracts a friendly crowd of scientists from all schools in the U.S. Our presence was well noticed this year, with over 10 scholars from WesternU and two WesternU students coming from training programs at Cornell and Kansas State.” CVM students attending were: Ella Richardson, Shanes Abeywardena, Amanda Seelman, Karena Tang, Gerardo Mendoza, Ekaterina Perminov, Cherein Abdel Massih, Sean Pador, Brittany Voss, Dennis Chan, Oren Ofer, Steven Nguyen, Sohyun Kim, and Sara Mangosing.
