  • Professional Experience

    Prior to joining Western University:

    Dr. Gambone has held academic appointments at the University of California, San Diego and was a full professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology on the tenured tract at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
    He is currently professor emeritus at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
    He was director of of Reproductive Endocrine and Gynecology at Naval Hospital San Diego, California and Vice-Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the institution.
    He also served as Acting Director of Reproductive Endocrine at the UCLA School of Medicine.
    He is Board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology.
    He has been a consultant at the Rand Corporation in Santa Monica, CA.

    Clinical rotations for student and residents at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC), Colton, CA
    Eighteen lectures in the annual Reproductive Systems course at COMP
    Private sessions and mentoring for students and residents interested in Women's Health Care

  • Awards

    Dr. Gambone has received several awards and honors including the naming of Gambone Peak on the Antartic Continent for his work as a Naval Line officer in the late 1960's.
    He has won the residency teaching award at Naval Hospital, San Diego and UCLA.
    In addition to Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology, Dr. Gambone has been certified in Quality Assurance and Patient Safety.
    He has been Course Director for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) post graduate program in "Quality Management for Leaders in Women's Health Care' and continues to teach on the faculty of this course.

    He is married to Marge Armstrong Morris; Lives and has an infertility and reproductive endocrinology practice in Durango, Colorado.

  • Publications

    Dr. Gambone has published over 200 research articles and book chapters. He is currently Executive Editor of the most widely used student textbook in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Essentials of Obstetrics and Gynecology, published by Saunders/Elsevier. This book is in its 5th edition and appears in 7 other languages besides English including a recent edition in Chinese.
