Copyright Information and Resources
Information and links to resources about copyright including fair use and the TEACH Act.
Document Delivery Service allows faculty and staff to request copies of articles from journals in the library’s print collection.
Faculty and Staff can use the library photocopiers at no charge when they need to copy articles from the library journal collection.
EndNote Bibliographic Software
EndNote is bibliographic management software that allows users to save and organize citations. These citations can be for journal articles, books, conference proceedings, Web pages, manuscripts, etc. Different formatting styles can be used.
If a journal article or book is not available at the Harriet K. and Philip Pumerantz Library you may request an Interlibrary Loan.

The Library Reference & Outreach Department is able to assist university faculty members in performing literature searches using our available electronic resources.
The Pumerantz Library’s reference staff is available for “Office Calls” to faculty and staff in their on campus offices. The Office Call service includes help with private literature searching, small and large group instruction, bibliography formatting and many other library and information related matters.
Pumerantz Library has agreements for resource sharing with colleges and universities in California.
Remote Access Policy
When accessing the electronic resources off-campus, links to restricted materials on the library website will prompt you for your WesternU network username and password. This username and password is the same as your WesternU email. Only authorized users (current students, faculty, and staff) can access the library materials

Items in the Library collection or items directly related to the course curriculum may be placed on reserve at the Circulation Desk.
Purchase Recommendation Form
Please use this form to recommend books, journals, media items, and other resources for purchase. We will review each request to see if it fits within the scope of the Library.

Services for Faculty
The Reference and Outreach department can help enhance your courses by providing in class or stand alone teaching assistance as well as guest lecturing on a variety of topic including but not limited to: Evidence Based Practice, Library Resources, Mobile Apps for Use in Clinic, Copyright and Plagiarism, EndNote, Information Literacy and Health Literacy.

Faculty Development Resources
Select faculty development webinars and audiovisual materials are available to WesternU faculty online under a special license agreement. Many are also available in person at the Pumerantz Library.
The Harriet K. & Philip Pumerantz Library has Reference Librarians designated as library liaisons to serve as a first point of contact for each college at Western University of Health Sciences.

Exceptions for Clinical Faculty
Remote Access Request form for Clinical Faculty/OPTIwest Residents
To request a remote access username/password, please use the online application form. Once your application has been approved you will be issued a personalized username/password. This username and password will expire yearly on June 30 at which time you will need to submit your application again. Remote access passwords are for individual, non-commercial use and may not be shared.
