Dr. Casey Rhines graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy Accelerated 7-Year Dental Program, earning both a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and her DDS, as well as a certificate of fluency in Spanish. She has served on mission trips abroad to both the Dominican Republic and El Salvador, and was a long-term volunteer dentist at a free clinic in Metro Detroit, awarding her the International College of Dentists Humanitarian Award for her contributions. Before joining Western U, Dr. Rhines practiced general dentistry for several years while teaching part-time at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She transitioned to full-time academia at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, teaching in both the clinic and directing the operative dentistry course. She has specialized training in neuromodulators and TMJ pain as well as dental sleep medicine. Dr. Rhines served as the Editor-in-Chief for the Colorado Dental Association Journal and has published with the Journal of Dental Education. She is a member of the International College of Dentists as well as the ADA, CDA, and ADEA.
