Dr. Ligvani’s academic interests focus on advancing community pharmacy practice through innovative clinical services, with an emphasis on pediatric pharmacy care, women’s health, and health equity. She is dedicated to improving health literacy and empowering patients through pharmacist-led education and advocacy. Her interests also include enhancing experiential and interprofessional education, fostering strong communication skills, and preparing future pharmacists to deliver patient-centered, collaborative care.
Dr. Ligvani’s teaching philosophy centers on fostering critical thinking, effective communication, and patient-centered care. She emphasizes active learning and experiential education, encouraging students to apply knowledge through case-based discussions, role-playing, and real-world problem-solving. Committed to mentorship, she adapts her teaching to support diverse learners while guiding students in their professional growth. She believes that interprofessional collaboration is essential for preparing pharmacists to be both clinically skilled practitioners and compassionate healthcare leaders.
Dr. Ligvani’s research focuses on pediatric care in the community pharmacy setting, with an emphasis on improving health literacy among children and adolescents as they transition to adult care. She is particularly interested in how early pharmacist engagement can foster lifelong medication adherence and empower patients to manage their health effectively. Additionally, her work examines the role of community pharmacists in assessing pediatric prescriptions for safety and efficacy, ensuring appropriate medication use through comprehensive counseling and patient-centered interventions.
