The medicine/cardiology clerkship is designed to provide clinical experiences in a teaching hospital (HCA and UCR affiliated) for the management of patients with acute heart failure, acute coronary syndromes, and other urgent cardiovascular diseases. Students will be involved in direct patient care activities in the emergency department, telemetry, and intensive care unit, as members of the cardiology teaching service. Current rotations available: Medicine/cardiology, cardiovascular research, and advanced elective.
Before joining the Faculty at Western University in 2004, Dr. Chow worked as a Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator for both the Internal Medicine Teaching Service and Cardiology, in addition to her adjunct faculty positions in both the Schools of Pharmacy and Medicine at SUNY-Buffalo. Her didactics, clinical practice, and research interests at Western University are focused in acute care cardiology with an emphasis on heart failure.
