Presenter Toolbox for CETL Sessions

We are excited to have you join us as a presenter for a CETL Session!

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) provides ongoing professional development sessions for the faculty and staff at WesternU. The department typically hosts 12-15 sessions each month and has an average monthly attendance of 150-200 individuals.

This page will help you prepare for your CETL presentation by providing you with tips, information, and tools to help your presentation look its best! And, as always, were here to help! CETL Session Types


  • Lecture

  • Facilitated Discussion

  • Themed Series

CETL Session Format

A typical session will be formatted as follows:

  • 15 minutes prior – Host will open Room for the presenter to prepare

  • 2-5 minutes prior – any attendees will be admitted from the waiting room

  • Time: Facilitator will introduce speaker and Topic Title

  • Session

  • Conclusion: The facilitator will thank attendees and the presenter and remind attendees that a follow-up email with evaluation will be emailed.
