
Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP)
The Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) Certificate is designed for nationally certified Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP) who desire or may be currently working in the Urgent Care or Emergency Department setting.

Why ENP?
Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Graduate Nursing is proud to offer the ENP Certificate for nationally certified FNPs that desire a dual role in the subspecialty areas of Urgent Care and Emergency Medicine. Our hybrid/online learning model provides the working FNP ability to enhance and advance their knowledge, skills, and training, integrating the ENP competencies and Scope and Standards for ENP practice as foundation for role preparation in this dynamic practice setting. If you are a graduate prepared, nationally certified FNP wishing to advance your career as an ENP who wants additional expertise in the care and management of urgent and emergency care populations.
We prepare our graduates to assume advanced nursing practice and leadership roles in the subspecialty settings of urgent and emergency care.

Two-semester Certificate
As the first college in the nation to develop an online/hybrid NP program, we are experienced in providing the support you need to succeed with distance learning. To provide flexibility and eliminate the need to commute daily to campus, we use:
- Online/hybrid curriculum and self-directed learning.
- Procedural skills intensives at the Pomona, CA, campus once per semester. For a complete listing of dates please refer to the College of Graduate Nursing academic calendar.
- An Urgent Care and Emergency Department clinical practice immersion completed in your own community.
The ENP Gainful Employment Disclosure is available for your review.
We are now offering two entry terms per academic year. Student can enroll either in the fall or spring semester.
