    Join us for a Zoom presentation on the WesternU COMP and COMP-Northwest curriculum.  Dr. Talbot, Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, will speak on the systems based approach used during the first two years of medical school, along with information on Interprofessional Education, Service Learning and more.  Next, Dr. White, Associate Dean, Clinical Education and Associate Professor of Family Medicine, will speak on the clinical third and fourth year rotations and the pathway on to residency.  The faculty presenters will be joined by medical students who will share their insights and experiences, followed by a Q&A session with the audience.

    For pre-med students who are interested in becoming physicians with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree, Western University of Health Sciences hosts a virtual advising session every last Tuesday of the month. The college’s recruiter, TJ Pe, will be available to answer your admissions questions and/or get you connected with DPM students and faculty for more in-depth information about the program and career. This is an open session that you may enter and leave at your own convenience.

  • COMP-Northwest Med School Mock MMIs

    Join med students from COMP-Northwest’s WC4BL and SOMA clubs on Zoom for a mock session of multiple miniature interviews.  These will completed in front of the live Zoom audience. This is great practice as you go through several MMI rounds with current medical students and receive feedback on your interview skills! All are welcome to sign-up.  Early registrants will be contacted to see if they’d like to volunteer to complete a live MMI in front of the audience. Interview confirmation will be sent out one week before the event.

    Join Heather Phipps, DO, Site-Dean of COMP-Northwest and Associate Professor Orthopedic Surgery and Sean McCully, MD, Associate Professor of Surgery, as they share their stories and experiences selecting surgery as a specialty, going through residency and continuing on into practice.  They’ll be joined by current medical students pursuing a similar surgical journey.  After hearing their stories we look forward to answering questions from our pre-med audience.  Even if surgery is not your specialty of choice, you are welcome to join us and hear their stories.
