Board of Trustees Scholarship
About the Scholarship
The WesternU Board of Trustees Scholarship was established to help recruit students from lower socio-economic backgrounds into the University’s graduate health education programs. The Trustee Scholarship provides up to 50% assistance in tuition for students who might otherwise find it difficult or impossible to successfully pursue graduate study in the health professions. Students from cultural, racial, linguistic, geographic, socioeconomic, and other diverse backgrounds who aspire to graduate health education professions are especially encouraged to apply.
Eligibility
Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 from their undergraduate institution(s) and provide evidence of financial need. Through the application, students must demonstrate their leadership, service to, and engagement, with economically disadvantaged communities as or systematically excluded and disproportionately affected groups. WesternU applicants who are U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents (“green card” holders), or have legal refugee, asylee status, temporary protected status (TPS), or deferred action for childhood arrivals status (DACA) in the U.S. are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applicants in F and J visa categories are ineligible to apply for this scholarship.
How to Apply
Prospective students with a completed application to a degree-seeking WesternU program, and a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above will automatically receive an invitation to apply. Those who are invited to apply can submit a scholarship application even if they have not been admitted to a WesternU program; however, only admitted students will ultimately be selected to receive the scholarship.
Scholarship Application Deadline
Completed applications including all supporting documents are due by 11:59 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
