The Anatomage 2026 Conference was held in Santa Clara, Ca on July 23rd and 24th. The conference gathered leaders and innovators from education and healthcare industries to develop and share ideas for educating future healthcare professionals using technology-driven engaging and active learning strategies. The conference provided hands-on workshops demonstrating how anatomical visualization, virtual dissection and case-based learning can be integrated into courses and curricula to provide deeper learning, application of information, and real-world problem solving to make health professions education better for students and their future patients.
The top three take-aways from the conference were:
1. Active learning with anatomy visualization helps with longer-term retention and application of foundational knowledge when threaded throughout the curriculum.
2. Virtual anatomical donors allow a safe space for students to practice, explore and engage with anatomy content which can improve confidence when engaging with actual donors.
3. The Anatomage table and virtual anatomy technologies can be used to create asynchronous activities and challenges in many courses beyond basic anatomy, allowing students to learn on their own schedule in a purpose-driven way
