Humanism at CPM
The mission of the Humanism Committee is to promote empathy, respect, and professionalism by advancing humanistic learning practices and supporting an enriching academic and clinical environment.

Humanism CPM Vision
Enable all CPM faculty, staff, and students to advocate, practice, and manage patient care in a variety of communities, health care settings, and living arrangements with professionalism, compassion, and concern in an ethical fashion regardless of a person’s social class, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion, culture, racial or ethnic background.
Areas of focus include but are not limited to:
- Seek learning opportunities that focus on the promotion of our core value of Humanism within the field of Podiatric Medicine, and the healthcare system.
- Seek out expertise and collaborative opportunities with other WesternU colleges as well as external organizations.
- Ensure that CPM students are aware of resources and feel supported by faculty, staff, and administration.
- Develop and implement assessments to identify needs and promote the core value of Humanism. Share findings and establish priorities to guide actionable plans that foster Humanism in clinical, academic, and general college settings.
