Congratulations on taking the next step! We look forward to receiving your application.
This page is offered as a brief description of the application process. If you have additional questions, please contact your Admissions Counselor. If you have not already done so, please visit the view requirements page for important information on the admissions process and to confirm you’re on track to complete all prerequisite courses and admission requirements for the Fall 2024 application cycle.
Primary Application Closes: March 1, 2024
Secondary Application Closes: March 15, 2024
SECONDARY APPLICATION (WESTERNU)
The secondary application is due two weeks from the receipt of the application link. Secondary applications submitted late may be delayed further due to the number of secondary applications received.
Apply early. While you may meet the AACOMAS application deadline, our class may be filled, and we will be unable to consider your application.
If you are an international student, you must also have all foreign coursework evaluated by Josef Silney & Assoc. or World Education Services (WES) according to our requirements. This evaluation is sent directly to AACOMAS at the time you file your application. Upon acceptance to COMP, an original evaluation should also be sent to your admission counselor.
Applicants who meet our requirements are sent an electronic link to the secondary application. Completion of the secondary application and receipt of all required documents, including MCAT scores, if available, are required prior to consideration of applications. Applications not completed within two weeks will result in delayed processing.
CASPer On-Line Test
We are requiring that the CASPer on-line test be taken concomitantly with the submission of the secondary application. Instructions regarding the test will be included within the link to the secondary application. We will accept tests taken between May of the application year and February of the anticipated entering year. The test must be taken with each application or reapplication. We will not accept test scores taken in a prior application year. The test scores are a requirement for the completion of your application. Sign up for the CASPer on-line test.
- Please use the same email address to apply to AACOMAS and to register for the CASPer test. This will facilitate matching your test results with your application.
- You need only select College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific once for your test results. As with the MCAT, we will use the same scores for both campuses.
- Applicants should consider registering for the test as soon as possible in anticipation of completing your secondary application.
Transfer applications will be considered on a case-by-case-basis. Factors considered include accreditation standards for class size and availability of clinical training sites. Transfer applicants cannot be on leave of absence at the time of application. Do not begin the application process until you have contacted the transfer admissions counselor and have read the transfer requirements for details regarding your eligibility to transfer.
Obtaining a residency program in the United States Has been difficult for some graduates. Many hospitals do not wish to accept the legal responsibility of sponsoring physicians for the graduate medical education programs.
It is strongly recommended that you begin research graduate medical education programs as early as possible to ensure that your hospitals of interest will sponsor you for their graduate medical education programs. You should begin the contact early and continue to dialogue with them throughout your medical education. Canadian citizens should be aware of new legislation relating to visas, residency guidelines, and Canadian licensure requirements as of June 2014. The Resource for Applicants with Canadian Citizenship (PDF) provides a brief overview of government regulations and other applicable information.
Proof of Legal U.S. Residency – If Required
- International applicants, or any other applicants who are not U.S. citizens and who are living in the U.S., must provide proof of legal U.S. residency prior to matriculation.
Applications can only be accepted from individuals who are citizens of the United States or who are permanent residents in possession of a permanent resident card. For questions regarding your eligibility to apply, please contact Daniell Mendoza, Principal Designated School Official at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You may check your application status by visiting our application status page.
