The Western University of Health Sciences College of Pharmacy opened in 1996. The PharmD program prepares pharmacy professionals in a humanistic, interdisciplinary tradition to become competent, qualified practitioners. WesternU now offers various types of postdoctoral training programs in pharmacy practice:

  1. PGY1 Pharmacy
  2. PGY1 Community-based Pharmacy
  3. PGY2 Cardiology Pharmacy
  4. Research Fellowships: Health Outcomes, Cardiology Outcomes, Managed Care and Pharmacoeconomics

Postdoctoral Training Develop clinical skills

WesternU has a rich history of providing first class training for postdoctoral trainees (postdocs) towards successful careers in clinical, research and academic settings. All postdocs will participate in both the teaching and research certificate programs, in which WesternU will provide training courses to prepare and support the postdocs to excel in teaching and evidence-based practice. Examples of teaching opportunities include participating in didactic and experiential teaching, precepting, as well as assisting in the development of clinical skills with pharmacy students in all phases of pharmacy school. Additionally, postdocs will participate in journal clubs and develop clinical appraisal skills for different types of research studies.
