Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE)

Based in Boulder, Colorado, collaborates with its fifteen member states to expand educational access and excellence for all citizens of the West. The Professional Student Exchange Program is one of three exchange programs of WICHE which enables students in thirteen Western states to enroll in selected out-of-state professional programs, usually because those fields of study are not available at public institutions in their home states. WICHE exchange students pay reduces levels of tuition – usually resident tuition in public institutions or reduced tuition at private schools. The home state pays a support fee to the admitting schools to help cover the cost of the students education. Students in the osteopathic medicine, physician therapy and physician assistant programs are eligible to apply. Further information is available at the WICHE Web site.

Seven College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific student were commissioned Tuesday May 17, 2022 during an Armed Forces Commissioning Ceremony and Recognition Dinner held at the Pasadena Hilton.

National Health Scholarship Corps – (NHSC)

The National Health Service Corps Scholarship Program (NHSC SP) awards scholarships to students pursuing eligible primary care health professions training. We provide financial support for full-time enrollment in an eligible primary care health professions degree training program for up to four school years through payment of tuition and eligible fees, an annual payment for other reasonable educational costs, and monthly stipends to assist with living expenses while pursuing your health professions degree educational training program.

In return, scholars commit to provide primary care health services in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs). You must serve at an NHSC-approved site in a HPSA. The total number of years you serve will depend on the number of school years of NHSC SP support you received. (This cannot exceed four school years.)

To be selected you must be a student pursuing primary care health professions training and meet the other eligibility requirements.
