By examining the interactions between drugs and biological systems, as well as the mechanisms driving their effects, our scientists identify and develop new medications. Our focus is on the design, optimization, and evaluation of compounds that can effectively treat various diseases. Our research encompasses various aspects of drug discovery, including drug delivery systems, pharmacokinetics, molecular pharmacology, signal transduction, prodrug design and synthesis, as well as analytical assay development and validation. Additionally, the new WesternU Molecular Computing Core (WMCC) offers high-performance computing resources and services, enabling us to explore the structural dynamics of complex biomolecules and advance drug design and discovery.
