How to Join:

Purchase your student membership using CashNet via the YouPortal:

  1. Expand the ‘Student Finance’ section of the ‘Quick Links’
  2. Click ‘View/Pay my Student Account’
  3. Select ‘Click Here to Pay Balance’
  4. Add the SamFit membership to your cart (only one purchase per student) and pay for your purchase.
  5. USA will e-mail you August 1st with activation information.  
  6. See below if you also want to purchase a membership for a family member.

$225.00 per year

SamFit’s offer to WesternU Students:
  • Deadline to join is September 1st 
  • No enrollment or activation fees
  • Free access card upon enrollment 
  • Up to a 15% discount on all additional services (e.g. personal training)
  • Discounted Annual health risk assessments – (available as part of the Wellness Package purchase)
  • Free unlimited access to the onsite health, wellness & fitness educational sessions
  • Free unlimited access to select group exercise classes (SamCircuit, SamCore, and SamFlex)
  • Free access to Albany SamFit racquetball courts, saunas and classes
  • 24/7/365 access to all SamFit facilities (Corvallis, Lebanon, Albany, Newport, etc.)

Family Add-On:

Once your SamFit membership is active you may add family members to your account.  Family memberships may not be charged to your student account.

Speak to your SamFit representative about adding a family member

  • 1st Family Add-on: $15.00/month*
  • Additional Family Add-ons: $10.00/month*
  • *Must live with the student and be at least 16 years of age.


Option #2: Reimbursement for a non-SamFit Fitness Membership 

The University may reimburse up to $100.00/year for a membership to any commercial fitness facility OTHER than SamFit.  There are two options listed below and depending on how you pay/paid for your membership you may be eligible to receive a reimbursement. 

How do you pay for your non-SamFit Membership?

You prepaid for a 12 month membership

You pay every month for your membership

To qualify for this reimbursement for the 2017-2018 Academic Year with a prepaid membership you must:

Complete the reimbursement request form and submit original documentation showing the membership is:

  • In your name (the student)

  • Paid in full

  • Active for the full academic year (at least 10 months between July 1 and June 30)


To qualify for this reimbursement for the 2017-2018 Academic Year with a month-to-month membership you must:

Complete the reimbursement request form and submit documentation showing:

  • The membership is your name (the student)

  • You’ve paid 10 consecutive months of dues

  • The 10 months of dues were paid during this academic year (July 1 – June 30)

Acceptable forms of proof include a financial history report from your gym (preferred) or copies of your bank or credit card statement (block out any personal information other than your name and the specific charge showing the name of the health/fitness club).
