COMMUNITY HEALTH
Western University is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of communities through prevention, education, and improved access to primary care and medications, particularly in underserved areas.
Our community health research focuses on improving quality of life by addressing health equity, exploring wellness strategies, and promoting lifestyle modifications. We develop public health initiatives and preventative measures aimed at reducing medical student burnout through mental health resources, encouraging exercise to alleviate anxiety, and advancing sports medicine. Additionally, we emphasize public education on diseases such as MPox and explore the intricate relationships between human health, veterinary science, and the environment to tackle global health challenges, including zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and ecosystem health through the One Health approach.
