Population Health Science

Our mission is to prepare osteopathic medical students to become leaders and Changemakers in population health science. The department comprises the Sections of Biostatistics and Epidemiology; Community and Global Health; Health and Social Behavior; and Health Policy and Management.

The department is home to the 4-year DO/MPH dual-enrollment program in partnership with Claremont Graduate University  School of Community and Global Health, which offers select COMP students an innovative, experiential, and transdisciplinary approach to public health and medical education. Along with COMP’s excellence in medical education, DO/MPH dual-enrollment students receive a solid foundation in core areas of public health while developing expertise in one of three concentrations: Applied Biostatistics and Epidemiology; Health Promotion, Education, and Evaluation; and Leadership and Management. By integrating medical education with public health perspectives, the DO/MPH dual-enrollment program develops leaders capable of innovating within clinical settings and influencing public policies.
